We did it!

Well hello!

Happening now.
We did it! The end of a very fun and successful Sugar Land Arts Fest. 🤩 I couldn’t have done it without the help of my family. For many artists who are also mothers, our art goals frequently get paused to keep our families on track. This weekend my family set aside what they were doing to help me accomplish what I needed at the festival. It was great!

There were just enough clouds and just enough sun to welcome so many people to the festival on both days. I got a wonderful spot right next to the muralists who painted (and finished) their amazing pieces by the end of the festival. I listened to the live music, people watched and chatted with so many artists. Such great energy from everyone I met really kept the momentum going, even for this introvert. It started sprinkling at the very, very end and just like amazing friends do, Nicole Rathjen, and her guys showed up to help us pack up and close out the day.

I was so happy to be there! So much good. It was magical to watch people connect and then fall in love with their painting as they made the decision to purchase. I met so many new friends, had rich conversations and learned so much!

Biggest thanks to everyone who also did the critical support leading up to this festival. I soaked up all your words of encouragement, serenity and love. I crossed this finish line with all of it tucked inside my heart. ❤️

Inspiring me.
Have you ever tried to meditate? I’ve always given it the side eye and just nodded along to anyone who mentioned it. But I’m actually giving it a try by using the Ten Percent Happier app on my phone. I did the free trial and felt a small shift on the days that I was able to meditate. Was it just wishful thinking? I’m not sure but I am curious.  I’ll keep you posted…

What’s next?
I am being super selective about choosing my next projects. The end of the school year and summer can have a very chaotic and untethered vibe. My focus can easily get swept away. I do have a Mark Eanes online color course that I purchased but have not finished/barely started. I think now is the time to dive in. I feel like I intuitively make good color choices in my work but I am excited about learning more and growing into a more sophisticated place. There’s a LOT to learn about color.

I'm so glad you’re here. ❤️
