TAID art sale 2024
September October Edit 2024 🍁
Well hello!
Happening now.
This September I got to participate in the annual TAID Art Sale! TAID is an advocacy group speaking as a single unified voice on legislative issues which affect the business of interior design in Texas. You can read more about the organization here, www.supporttaid.org/join.htm. This event is one of their fundraisers. What a great night with the best artists and craft vendors and the most fun attendees. It was a very busy 2 1/2 hour event but I was still able to chat with other artists and customers. The vibe was so cheery and fun.
For the event I gave myself the goal of finishing a new series of 8 x 8 inch, gallery wrapped canvases. I was able to finish 11 pieces that became the Passenger Window Summer 2024 Series. I describe them as end of summer moments, seen from the perspective of the passenger seat rider, captured on small, chunky canvases. This collection of the senses is visualized in saturated color, organic shapes and energetic compositions. The layered imagery calls you back to look closer, enjoy the ride and stay just a few minutes longer. You can see them all on my website now.
I was also able to offer a new series of small collages that I framed in black shadowboxes. Received some great feedback on them at the sale and several sold before I even put them on my website! I’m tweaking a few pieces and have a lot of ideas that I’d like to try, so I will be adding several more to the series. Look for work in progress pics on my IG account and I’ll let you know when I’ll be adding this new collage series to my website. They have a little bit of an autumnal, holiday feel to them.
Keeping them fed.
Ok. So you know I’d rather be painting, but my people still have to eat. I’ve had a season of feeling like I have a little more energy to hang out in the kitchen. This is a recipe that was not overwhelming for me. It turned out great so I thought I’d pass it along to you, Pork tenderloin with Dijon Cream Sauce. I served it with mashed potatoes and a salad, both pre-made/store bought of course!
What’s next?
I am working on my collage series which is so much fun. It feels like play!
I just applied and was accepted to the Sugar Land Art Fest, April 26-27, 2025.
After working on two series in a row of smaller pieces, the larger canvases in my studio are starting to call my name.
I feel like I’m going in to the holiday season with a very thankful heart. Looking forward to deep breaths and living in the moment that I am actually in.
I'm so glad you’re here.❤️
