breath + bone | acrylic and oil stick on canvas | 18 x 24 | $220
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7
When creating this piece, I thought a lot about the idea of being stripped down to the rawness, the essence of who I am, breath and bone; the frailty of dust and the life giving breath of God. When I put aside all of who I am pretending to be or trying to become, when I surrender everything, offering it up to the one who knows me completely, this is my own everyday version of death and resurrection.
